Hundreds of progressive groups gathered today at the National Heroes Shrine in Quezon City, the Philippines on August 31 to denounce the regime of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Criticisms of Duterte's violent regime include his abuse of human rights and press freedoms because of his war on drugs campaign, anti-terror law, as well as massive unemployment and shutting of the largest broadcast station in Philippines during the pandemic.

Protesters bring roses to offer for all people killed for political reasons during Duterte's term, as the day is also National Heroes Day, and one of commemoration.

Hundreds of progressive groups gathered today at Bantayog ng mga Bayani (National Heroes Shrine) in Quezon City to commemorate the National Heroes Day as they denounced the oppressive regime of Pres. Duterte who they claim as number 1 human rights and press freedom violator because of his war on drugs campaign, anti-terror law and massive unemployment and shutdown of the largest broadcast station in Philippines during the pandemic. Protesters bring roses and they offer the roses to all killed people due to political reasons during Duterte's term.
