A video captured a two-month-old elephant calf gleefully splashing around in a tub of water in southern India's Karnataka.

The baby elephant was named Shivani in a naming ceremony at Sri Manjunatha Swamy Temple, Dharmasthala.

The visual came out of the temple on August 31.

The video shows the calf - donning colourful garments all set for the naming ceremony.

Reports suggest Lakshmi gave birth to the baby elephant on July 1.

The baby elephant can be seen splashing around in the water tub, wearing a vibrant headgear and a footgear.

In a fit of excitement, she judders her head inside the water tub as people around cherish the beautiful moment.

Sources suggest the calf is healthy and absolutely loves to play in the water just like any adult elephant.
