Community Members Rally Outside of General Mills World Headquarters Calling for a Boycott Ahead of Annual Shareholders Meeting in Respons
On Monday, September 21 members of Women Against Military Madness, the Anti-War Committee, American Muslims for Palestine Twin Cities, Jewish Voice for Peace Twin Cities, and Veterans for Peace Chapter 27 rallied together outside of the global headquarters of General Mills in Golden Valley, MN ahead of their annual shareholder meeting on Tuesday, September 22nd.
In February, the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights named Minnesota-based General Mills in violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2334. General Mills manufactures frozen baked goods for its Pillsbury brand in the Atarot Industrial Zone, an illegal Israeli settlement in occupied Palestinian territory.
Community members held signs, chanted, marched, and heard from numerous speakers on the grounds of General Mills world headquarters.

Date: September 16, 2020, re: Public Protest, Mon., Sept. 21, & Shareholders Meeting Tues., Sept. 22.
Minnesota-based General Mills has been singled out by the United Nations because it acts in violation of international law by operating a production facility illegally within an Israeli settlement on militarily-occupied Palestinian land.
To raise community awareness, area residents will gather at General Mills headquarters, along General Mills Boulevard (exit north from #394 and east of #169), by 5:00 p.m., Monday, September 21. The family-friendly rally will include hand-held signs and statements by people concerned about human rights, respect for international law, and the complicity of a Minnesota-based corporation in undermining life-affirming values.
In February, the U.N. High Commissioner on Human Rights named General Mills, and six other U.S. corporations, in violation of U.N. Security Council Resolution 2334, which condemns Israeli settlement activity as illegal and demands that Israel cease all settlement activities in occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.
General Mills manufactures frozen baked goods for its Pillsbury brand in the Atarot Industrial Zone, an illegal Israeli settlement in occupied Palestinian territory which has been annexed into Jerusalem. The factory is located on land that was part of the Palestinian town of Beit Hanina, which Israel divided by building one of its notorious separation walls.
General Mills will convene its annual shareholders meeting virtually at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Individuals and organizations holding shares plan to submit questions to the Board of Directors before and during the meeting to challenge corporate activity that stands in violation of international law.
