Residents were terrified after strong gusts of wind smashed into their village during Typhoon Molave in the Philippines.

Lloyd Mandanas recorded the trees swaying outside his house in the Tingloy town of Batangas, Philippines on Monday (October 26).

He said: “We did not evacuate because our village was not flooded, but we were scared of the landslide. We live near the mountains.”

More than 50,000 people have been displaced by the typhoon as it passes through the Southern Tagalog region, where it made landfall while moving westwards.

Most of the evacuees were from villages that are prone to landslides, flash floods, storm surges, and mud flows.

The weather state bureau said the typhoon is expected to exit the country tomorrow (October 27).
