Large crowd of protesters gather in Philadelphia after Walter Wallace shooting
Crowds of Black Lives Matter protesters gathered in Philadelphia on Tuesday night (October 27) after the fatal shooting of Walter Wallace.
Footage shows the crowd holding placards and chanting while gathering in front of a police line in the 18th Precinct area of the city.
The scene came as violence and looting erupted in the city following the fatal shooting of Black resident Walter Wallace on Monday night.
A video of the shooting shows an officer emptying several rounds into the 27-year-old man, who appears to be charging towards police with a knife.
He then collapses the ground in a pool of blood before being transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he died shortly after.
The National Guard has now moved into the city to try to quell the unrest, which comes just days ahead of the US election.
