This is the spooky moment a ghost moved his favourite chair - where he would sit drinking whiskey.

Pon, 73, passed away two months ago followed by his drinking buddy, Rabieb, 64, in Buriram, northeast Thailand.

The pair would stay up late together drinking whiskey mixed with water and ice outside a nearby grocery shop.

Owner Anong Yenprakon, 42, was shocked this week when she reviewed the store's security camera following a theft - and Pon's favourite chair suddenly moved.

CCTV footage recorded on December 11 showed a white plastic chair transporting two feet away in an instant without anyone moving it.

The video also showed the water container on the table disappearing after the chair had shifted position.

The store owner, spooked by the recording, said she did not tamper with the CCTV as it was handed to police as evidence to investigate the theft of a buffalo from her garden.

Anong said: "Only a few staff have access to the camera and we don't know how it could have been faked. It was really scary."

Anong added that two elderly neighbours who recently died - Pon, 73, and Rabieb, 64 - used to drink liquor on that spot. They would often sit together on chairs in that same position.

She said: "They use the chair and table to drink alcohol until night time, chatting and having fun until they died two months ago."

The superstitious woman then visited a temple to pray and placed food and alcohol offerings "to make the spirits peaceful."

Meanwhile, the person who stole the buffalo has not yet been found by the police and investigations are still ongoing.
