A nursing home in China sparked outrage for performing an erotic dance for an elderly resident

Footage shows the entertainer wearing a blue miniskirt, long sleeves, and knee-high black socks as she dances in front of a male pensioner in Anyang, Henan province.

Local media reported that the provocatively dressed woman was performing to encourage the resident to take his medication.

She was seen swaying her hips and moving her arms in the air on September 24.

The care home's director later claimed that the dancer was a staff member tasked with looking after the residents in the facility.

An official explained: 'The woman sometimes appears in promotional videos, but she is not a professional dancer.

'The nursing home usually provides entertainment such as card games and singing.'

Another employee defended the performance, saying: 'We just wanted to show this is not a dull place. It can be full of life - even for the elderly.'

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
