This is the dramatic moment a dog dodged an out-of-control pickup truck as it ploughed into a garden shrine.

The resident was hanging laundry outside her home while one of her pet dogs lounged nearby as the speeding vehicle came hurtling into their front yard in Chachoengsao, Thailand.

CCTV footage shows the black canine resting near the road on September 13.

Moments later, the pooch and the homeowner were startled by the screech of brakes as the pickup accelerated towards the animal.

The dog can be seen glancing at the truck as it veers off the road before sprinting to safety, narrowly avoiding being struck.

The vehicle then slammed into the house's spirit shrine, destroying it on impact before colliding with an electric pole outside a neighbouring property.

Local media reported that the driver sustained injuries but is now in a stable condition.
