Stray cat rescued after falling on metal fence spikes
This is the harrowing moment a cat was rescued after it was found impaled on metal fence spikes.
The stray moggy was heard crying outside the property in Chachoengsao, Thailand on December 22.
Shocked resident Worapong Sitthidet, 43, tried to help the tabby but it was frightened and became aggressive. He said the cat but him several times when he went to put his hands near it to lift it off the railings.
Worapong called the Chachoengsao Rescue Service who arrived with cutting equipment to help the stranded cat.
The spent around five minutes breaking through the metal bars - which were still piercing through the cat's belly - before carrying it down to safety.
They then drove the cat to the nearest vets where the iron railings were carefully removed from its stomach.
Worapong said: ''When I walked outside the house and heard a crying sound, I walked over to see that the cat had been impaled. I was really sad because the cat was in pain.
''But when I tried to help, several times the cat bit me. I think the cat had been walking on the roof and jumped or fell and landed on the spikes.''
The cat is being kept at the vet's while he recovers. It will then be released back into the wild if nobody offers to adopt it.
