Indonesia plane crash: Aircraft passed inspection in December
The Sriwijaya plane that crashed shortly after taking off from Jakarta on Saturday (January 9) had passed important checks for its airworthiness, according to officials.
The plane had been grounded during the bulk of the COVID-19 pandemic and returned to service on December 22 after passing inspections from the country's transport ministry on December 14.
Footage filmed on Tuesday (January 12) shows rescue operations on the fourth consecutive day.
The plane crashed in the Java Sea with 62 people on board.
