Padang City Fire Department personnel, along with a reptile enthusiast community, successfully evacuated a three-meter-long king cobra from a kindergarten warehouse on Simpang Akhirat Street, Kuranji District, Padang City, on Saturday afternoon (October 4, 2025).

The evacuation process was dramatic. Officers arrived at the location after receiving reports from residents about a venomous snake hiding inside the warehouse.

Using special equipment, the joint team attempted to capture the deadly reptile. The male king cobra is suspected to have descended into the residential area due to heavy rainfall, which flooded its nest.

"The snake's presence was quickly discovered by residents, so there were no casualties. After successfully evacuating the snake, we secured it to prevent any untoward incidents," said Danu Seto Herlambang, a reptile enthusiast who participated in the evacuation.

Luckily, the evacuation went smoothly and local residents felt relieved after the snake was successfully secured.
