Buffalo trouble! Pair of bulls lock horns over female

The African Savanna Buffalo (Syncerus caffer) is one of the continent’s most dangerous animals. Males weigh up to 700 kilograms and have massive, metre-long horns. This large herd of Buffaloes were in the bush and crossing the Dipeni Road in the northern part of Kruger National Park after drinking and mud-bathing in the nearby Shingwedzi River. One large bull tried to mount a cow, and was then attacked by another, equally large bull. They clashed horns and kicked up clouds of fine dust before the victorious bull drove the loser across the road and into the Mopane bush. The rest of the herd followed.
