This kitten made a gradual recovery after being diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition that affects the brain.

Sherilee Francis, living in Kocasinan, Turkey, filmed Penny the kitten as she was nursed back to health.

Francis said: "She was in a coma when I collected her. And when she came around she was having many seizures a day.

"She was totally paralysed, and we never thought she was going to survive."

The filmer added that at five weeks old, she should have been running around like a normal kitten, but she could barely support her head.

"This is when she was diagnosed with hydrocephalus. She had to have a lot of medical and physical therapy and she continues to be on daily medication for the rest of her life. But as you see from recent videos, what a miracle!" Francis added.

Penny was five weeks old when Sherilee first saw her via a social media post.

"She was currently in a coma when I collected her. And when she came around she was having many seizures a day" said Sherilee.

"She was totally paralysed, and we never thought she was going to survive" said Sherilee.

Sherilee added that at five weeks old, she should have been running around like a normal kitten, but she could barely support her head.

They began nursing her back to health, feeding her from a syringe because she needed to be healthy enough for an MRI scan so they could figure out what was wrong.

"This is when she was diagnosed with hydrocephalus: water on the brain. She was had to have a lot of medical and physical therapy and she continues on daily medication for the rest of her life. But as you see from recent videos, what a miracle!" said Sherilee.
