Sinkholes develop under houses in Cape Town township after rains
Informal structures and houses in the township of Vrygrond outside Cape Town were threatened by sinkholes after days of heavy rains. The streets also became flooded and the homes threatened to collapse as sinkholes developed below them.
Fawzia Cassiem, who has lived in the Vrygrond community for 13 years, accused Cape Town Mayor Patricia De Lille of neglecting the community.
