Wildlife officials in Ganjam, eastern India, rescued 15 baby cobras from an abandoned well.

Footage shows the snakelets being hauled up to the surface via several ropes attached to a basket.

The rescue attempt lasted an hour and the 15 cobras were later released into the wild.

This footage was filmed on July 17.

15 cobra snake baby were rescued from an abandoned well in Lanjipalli Ganesh Nagar in Berhampur town of Ganjam district of Odisha in eastern India.

The house of Prashant Kumar Das's wife of Ganesh Nagar has been seen some snake's babies are inside a abandoned well and inform to the snake helpline.

Helpline member came to spot immediately and started rescue operation from the well. Mr. Das's wife brings basil leaves from the garden every day and worships at home. Even today, when he went to the garden, she saw something floating in the well. She informed members of the Snake Helpline. Then members Swadhin Sahu, Sandeep Sethi and Srikant Nahak arrived. After an hour of work, 15 baby snakes were rescued. It was later released into the forest on the orders of forest officials.
