A funeral was held on Friday 13 August for two Kenyan brothers allegedly beaten to death by police for violating a coronavirus curfew.

The two brothers Benson Njiru, 22, and Emmanuel Mutura, 19, died over a week ago.

Witnesses say they were beaten to death by police after they were arrested for violating curfew rules.

The brothers had earlier that day opened a small pork business at the market and according to their mother, they had very good sales.

Leaders from different political groups gathered at the brothers’ parents’ home in Kithangari Village, Embu North Sub-County, to condole the deceased’s family.

The brothers were buried in a single grave, per family's wishes.
