A snake expert removed a deadly black cobra that had strayed into a home in northern India.

Footage filmed today (August 17) showed the experienced handler catching the reptile behind the counter of a home in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh.

The snake was set to be released in a wild area way from homes.

Panic ensued among residents upon spotting a black cobra lurking in the house in central India's Madhya Pradesh on August 17. The incident took place in Makronia in the Sagar district.

Visuals feature the expert attempting to rescue the black cobra slithering in the corner of the house. The rescuer further removes the wooden counter and pulls the snake out of its hiding spot. In the meantime, the terrifying reptile coils on the ground while the man grabs it with his bare hands as it begins to curl up on him.

With the arrival of the monsoon, the snakes have started slithering into the residential areas. Following this, the black cobra made a house its haven in Krishna Nagar, ensuing panic among the residents. However, Deepak Sisodia alerted the serpent expert, Akeel Baba, who rushed to the spot and rescued the reptile after tracking it down. Besides, Akeel Baba will release the creature into its natural habitat while the locals take a sigh of relief.
