"I chose the cultivation of Zippora acipolata which has a lot of roots that are suitable as a barrier to mud and vegetation or protection from abrasion," said Yose.

In the two months of his mangrove cultivation mission, Yose and four other colleagues have succeeded in planting a thousand mangroves around the brackish water lake in the Jambak Pasir area.

"More than a thousand mangroves have been planted around this brackish lake for the past two months, currently there are still 3000 mangroves still in the enlargement stage until they are two months old, which are targeted to be planted in October," he said.

Yose admitted that he got the mangrove seeds from collecting mangroves that fell in areas with mangrove ecosystems, such as the Banana River, Padang Fan City Banana River and then brought them to their cultivation site to be put in polybags.

The seeds are treated until they are two months old, after two months they are ready to be planted in a number of areas suitable for planting.

Yose dreamed that the jambak sand area would become the lungs of the mangrove forest in the province of West Sumatra because it would provide natural wealth for the surrounding community.

In addition to anticipating disasters, mangroves can be a habitat for fish, shrimp, birds, and other animals. In addition, the mangrove forest can later be used as a tourist spot, research.
