Firefighters Evacuate Narrow Rings on Lovebird's Feet in East Jakarta, Indonesia
Firefighters from the Ciracas District Sector helped the residents to evacuate their bird which was trapped in the ring.
Reporter Firas, having his/her address at Jl. Subur RT 10 RW 06, Kel. Susukan, East Jakarta, came to the Ciracas Sub-district Fire Station to remove the ring from his bird's leg.
According to the owner's statement, the 6-month-old Love Bird has been fitted with a ring since childhood.
After adulthood the ring cannot be removed and results in swelling of the bird's leg.
The officer who received the report did not take long for the evacuation process. After about 10 minutes the ring was successfully removed from the bird's leg.
