A herd of huge elephants strayed onto a tea plantation in India's Assam state on Friday (October 29).

The footage shows the herd strolling onto the estate and munching on the greens while more and more locals gather to watch and take pictures.

At one point, one of the elephants begins chasing people who then dash for safety. After the brief commotion, the herd settles back into its slow and relaxed walk though the plantation.

A herd of jumbos strayed towards a tea estate in northeastern India's Assam on October 29. The incident took place at the Bogidhola Tea Estate, located in the Golaghat district.

Visuals feature the elephant herd entering the tea estate. As the jumbos pour in, the curious onlookers gather around. The pachyderms slowly stroll in the region, occasionally munching on the greens. Later, one of the elephants chases after the locals, who run to safety.

Elephants in the region are known for straying off their corridor to look for food. They often stray towards the tea plantations or residential areas, making the locals familiar with such incidents.
