A motorist filmed a climate crisis emergency vehicle carrying an Extinction Rebellion banner while making its way to COP26.

The UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow from the 31st of October to the 12th of November.

The summit will bring parties together to accelerate action towards the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

COP26 was initially due to take place in 2020 but was postponed by a year because of the pandemic.

A UN climate summit is known as a Conference of the Parties (Cop). There have been 25 so far. That makes this one Cop26. The “parties” in the name are the 197 signatories to a UN climate treaty, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Cop26 was initially due to take place in 2020 but was postponed by a year because of the pandemic.
