Volunteers teach minors English in the open and free of charge. They have been carrying out this activity since March 2020.

This volunteer is willing to teach children in the hills of an Indonesian village in Padang, West Sumatra Province to learn English.

The location is very difficult to reach by public transportation, and the settlement of the residents of 'Bukit Gado-Gado' is very less prosperous because it is located on the outskirts of the capital city of West Sumatra province.

Teaching English to children here carries the concept of English Class to Nature, where they do it twice a month for class meetings, by utilizing the community's home field that is high on the hillside.

"We teach them to recognize the expressions used in English," said Cinthia Mutiara Zeni, a volunteer English teacher on November 3, 2021.

The purpose of teaching English to children who live on the outskirts of the city of Padang so that in the future it can be more practical when they graduate and enter first-level or final-level schools. Because they have the right to education and lessons in English, which is an international language.

"We have been studying here for a year, and not only English. We are also taught how to share and help," said Sofia, a participant in the English Class to Nature.

The English subject has since been removed from elementary school (SD) subjects in the 2013/2014 curriculum and is no longer the main subject. (*)
