A security camera in Indonesia has captured the moment a heavily pregnant shoplifter reached over the counter of a mobile phone store to steal a handset display after turning off the alarm.

The footage was recorded at the "Tekno Ponsel" mobile phone shop in Bukittinggi in West Sumatra province on November 3.

According to shopkeeper Indah, the woman entered the business asking for a phone price list brochure, then asking to buy a headset.

"She then asked to install a silicone scratch-resistant screen. Then he left after paying with a non-cash system," Indah said.

The shopkeeper noticed that the Mi 11 Lite phone display on the table was missing, when another customer wanted to try.

CCTV footage they examined revealed a pregnant woman wearing a mask, helmet and gray sweater as the shoplifting the phone for 280 US dollars.

The young woman was seen turning off the electrical contacts of the display table as duo shopkeepers turned their backs on her.

The shoplifter then reached for the phone display, unplugged the alarm cable, then put it under his pants in front of the stomach while the shopkeeper was off guard as busy printing a scratch-resistant screen.

He paid for the scratch-resistant screen on a non-cash system then went to another shop.

Moments later, she was caught on camera shoplifting an internet voucher worth 105 US dollars and then bought a scratch-resistant screen for a stolen cell phone at the shop earlier.

“After stealing here, she went to my friend's shop to shoplifting vouchers. It's like she's heavily pregnant," Indah said.

The victim has reported the perpetrator to the police. Women with the same characteristics have been caught on security cameras stealing several times at phone shops in several cities.

She stole handsets worth 300 to 980 US dollars using the mode of buying headsets, scratch-resistant screens and phone cases, then paid large bills to catch the shop assistant off guard while looking for change.

The next is security camera footage that captured the previous theft by her.
