Hundreds of thousands of farmed fish have washed up dead in a lake in West Sumatra, Indonesia.

Workers at Lake Maninjau in Agam blamed strong winds for the sudden demise of their stocks on December 30.

Locals said many of the dead fish would likely be consumed by birds and monitor lizards.

The remaining carcasses were set to be buried to avoid an awful stench of rotting fish.

Tens of tons of fish cages in Lake Maninjau, Agam, West Sumatra, to be precise in the Bayur to Gasang area and its surroundings, have died again.

According to the fishpond workers, this was due to the arrival of strong winds from the east, so that the sulfur at the bottom of Lake Maninjau died.

But in other areas, fish conditions are still safe because they are not affected by strong winds. Later, according to workers, the fish carcasses will be eaten by birds, there are also monitor lizards and other reptiles.

Puluhan Ton Ikan Keramba kembali Mati

Puluhan ton ikan Keramba di Danau Maninjau, Agam, Sumatera Barat, tepatnya di kawasan Bayur hingga Gasang dan sekitarnya, kembali mati.

Hal tersebut menurut pekerja tambak dikarenakan datangnya musim angin kencang dari timur, sehingga belerang yang ada di dasar Danau Maninjau mati.

Tetapi di wilayah lain kondisi ikan masih aman karena tidal terdampak angin kencang.

Nantinya menurut pekerja, bangkai ikan tersebut akan dimaka oleh burung, ada juga oleh biawak dan hewan reptil lain.

Selain itu ada juga yang akan di kubur hingga dibiarkan membusuk dan hancur.

Kondisi ini merupakan musiman di setiap tahunnya, namun cuaca terus berubah sehingga pemilik keramba tidak bisa memprediksi kapan waktu angin kencang tersebut datang.(moozamochi).
