Firemen rescued a 5-year-old boy sitting on the second-floor window ledge in northern China.

Video filmed in the city of Taiyuan in Shanxi Province on January 17 shows a boy sitting on the second-floor window ledge, while neighbours holding a quilt under the building in case he fell down.

The boy's mother reportedly left him alone at home and went out at noon to buy something when he was taking a nap.

After the boy woke up, he could not see his mother. So he climbed onto the window to look for his mother.

A fireman carried the boy back into the flat after the locksmith opened the door.

Fortunately, he was not injured. The video was provided by local media with permission.
