Motorcycle rider clotheslined by low hanging cable on road in Thailand
This is the shocking moment a rider was clotheslined off his motorbike by a low-hanging phone cable.
The unidentified rider was passing through an intersection when his neck was caught on the inconspicuous wire in Khon Kaen province, Thailand on February 21.
He has knocked off the two-wheeler which skidded about 30ft away but was able to stand up after a few seconds, only avoiding more serious injury thanks to the full riding gear he wore.
The young man had no severe injuries but sustained a red scar mark across his neck. He then rode off after resting for a short while. It was unknown if he reported the incident to authorities.
Surachai Panmuang, who worked at a garage nearby, said the cable was previously dragged down by a passing truck a few hours before the rider was snagged.
He said: 'A truck passed by here and dragged one of the cables which loosened it even more. My employer had already filed a complaint about the low-hanging cables but nothing was ever done about it.'
The mechanic added that locals would try and fix the cable themselves to avoid accidents but without success, as the wires would just drop down again after a few days.
No complaints had been received by the local police about the incident while the incident had been reported to the telco company.
