The 2022 Cape Town pride was attended by a few hundred LGBTQI++ persons and supporters of this community. It was last held in 2020 before the start of the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020. Several of the attendees spoke about the violence, harassment and intimidation they still suffer in society as a result of their lifestyles and sexual preferences

This year’s event appears to be a more a subdued event. Unlike many other events in Cape Town, it was open to unvaccinated people as well.
