An aggressive 10ft-long cobra was caught after slithering through a family's kitchen window in Thailand.

The deadly snake was seen on the window pane when the housewife went to cook dinner at the home in Chanthaburi province on March 19.

Animal rescuers were called on the property to catch the aggressive snake while the residents waited outside.

When the team arrived, they searched around the house and found the snake curled up under a pile of 10kg sacks of rice. It was then caught after almost an hour.

House owner Chutikarn Daraprasertkul, 31, said: 'My dog was being noisy in the kitchen and then I found the long snake crawling on the window. I knew it was a cobra so I quickly ran out with my dog.'

A volunteer pinned down the snake's neck using a rod with hook and dragged it out of the house. It was taken inside a sack and tried to bite through the cloth.

It spat out a significant amount of venom but no one was reported hurt. The snake was released into the wild afterwards.
