The Naqsabandiyah Congregation in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia, began the fasting worship of Ramadan 1443 Hijri, Friday, April 1, 2022, or earlier than the schedule of most other Muslims. The followers of this sect will perform the Taraweeh Prayers in congregation starting Thursday night.


One of the locations for the Naqsabandiyah Congregation to perform the first Taraweeh Prayer is at the Baitul Makmur Mushalla, which is located in Binuang Village, Kampung Dalam, Pauh District, Padang City, West Sumatra.

The Imam of the Padang Naqsabandiyah Order, Elritman, said that the government's earlier implementation of fasting was based on the Hisab Qomariyah count in the Munjid Book, one of which was the calculation of the start of fasting five days after the start of fasting in the previous year.


Naqsabandiyah will fast for thirty full days.



Although different from most other Muslims, he said there was never any friction with local residents.



By fasting earlier, Naqsabandiyah followers will certainly perform Eid prayers earlier than other Muslims in Indonesia.
