Faster...Naqshbandiyah Congregation in Indonesia Performs Eid Prayer Today
Followers of the Naqshbandiyah Order in Padang, West Sumatra, have performed the Eid Prayer 1446 Hijriah, Saturday (3/29/2025) morning. The prayer was performed in several places.
One of the leaders of the Naqshbandiyah order in Padang, Buya Mardanus, said that in Padang City there are 12 locations that are the bases of the Naqshbandiyah who are performing the Eid Prayer today.
Mardanus and dozens of congregants performed the Eid Prayer at Surau Baru, Binuang Kampung Dalam Village, Pauh District. In addition to Surau Baru, the Eid Prayer was also performed at the Baiturrahim Mosque, Koto Lalang Village, Lubuk Kilangan District. There were hundreds of congregants consisting of parents, teenagers and children who performed the Prayer.
They started arriving at around 07.00 WIB. The prayer itself was held at around 07.45 WIB.
Mardanus admitted that his party did celebrate Eid earlier than others. This was done, according to the Hisab calculations that have been carried out for generations.
"We fast for 30 days of Ramadan. Every year is exactly 30 days. Why is Eid al-Fitr today, because we started fasting on February 27, 2025. So according to the calendar, 1 Shawwal 1446 Hijriah falls on this day," said Mardanus.
He said that although there were differences with others, the implementation of Eid al-Fitr prayers or other Islamic holidays had been going well so far.
Adherents of the Naqsabandiyah Order are spread across several districts and cities in West Sumatra. Its followers are estimated to reach 5000 people.
Naqsabandiyah is one of three orders that have developed in West Sumatra. Apart from Naqsabandiyah, there are also the Sattariyah and Kastariyah Orders.
The difference is, if Naqsabandiyah is usually earlier, while Sattariyah and Kastariyah are actually later than the government.
