Hundreds of pro-choice protesters turned out at Old School Square in downtown Delray Beach, Florida, to voice their opposition to the US Supreme Court's anticipated overturning of Roe v. Wade, which has guaranteed a woman's right to an abortion for many decades. Bans Off Our Bodies organized the rally which featured speeches by pro-choice and women's rights activists and state and local politicians. Women and men cheered calls for people to get out and vote for candidates who support abortion rights. Speakers also singled out Gov. Ron DeSantis -- who signed a bill that would deny abortions to women who are victims of rape, incest and human trafficking after 15 weeks -- and US Senator Marco Rubio -- who believes life begins at conception and would also deny abortions to women who are victims of rape and incest. Both politicians are up for re-election in November. After the rally, participants lined tony Atlantic Avenue to chant pro-choice slogans and cheer drivers who beeped their approval.
