Bike-borne miscreants flee with woman's chain in southern India
Two men on the bike snatched a chain from a woman's neck in southern India's Andhra Pradesh.
The incident took place near Suryamahal Junction in the Srikakulam city of the eponymous district on May 19.
Visuals, captured on CCTV camera, showed two men riding a bike on a busy road. They came near a couple who was on a scooter. One of the men on the bike suddenly snatched the chain from the woman's neck and fled the spot immediately.
After the incident, the couple got down from the scooter and looked around for a while. They could not understand what happened to them and were also unable to catch the thieves as they fled away.
According to reports, two miscreants on a bike stole 4.53 kg (10 lbs) of gold jewelry from a woman's neck while she was sitting on the back of the scooter.
The victims had lodged a complaint at the Srikakulam II Town Police Station and the investigation is going on.
