A group of brazen thieves in the Indian state of Telangana were captured on CCTV trying to break into a jewellery store then successfully stealing a whole automated teller machine.

Footage from February 5 in the Adilabad district shows the illegal antics caught on tape as a group of people are seen attempting to rob a store but fail in doing so.

Then, allegedly after a hearing police sirens, they continued their spree of thievery and targeted an ATM, in which they wrapped a rope around it and used a car to drag it from its station.

After getting away, the police found the wrecked ATM on a side road and concluded that 30 Lakh ($41,188) had been lifted from the machine.

An investigation into the robbery is still ongoing.

A couple of miscreants robbed an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in southern India's Telangana on February 5. The incident took place in the Adilabad district.

Visuals witnessing the incident feature a group of miscreants attempting to break into a jewellery store during midnight.

They try to smash the shutter but are unable to. Then they bring equipment along with them to crack through it and get inside the shop.

Following this, they hear a siren of a police vehicle and instantly evacuate the area.

After a few moments, they barge into a vacant ATM room and fasten a rope around it.

Then they pull the machine out of the area with full force and flee the region. The next morning, several police officials rush to the sidelines of a street where they discover an abandoned and a broken segment of the ATM device.

The robbery took place at the Collector Chowk in the Adilabad district. The ATM containing Rs. 30 lakh (USD 41,148) belonging to the State Bank of India was hijacked by the miscreants at midnight. They first attempted to rob Vaishnavi Jewellers in Ashok road by breaking its shutter but were unable to as the police were patrolling in the region.

On receiving the information about this incident, the police officials went to the spot and recovered a broken ATM dumped by the robbers on the sidelines of a road next to the national highway on their way to Maharashtra. Further investigation into the matter is still underway.
