UK rail strike day 2 causes long tailbacks into Birmingham city centre as trains sit unused at depot
Birmingham was hit by an extra busy rush hour as day 2 of rail strikes hit Britain on Thursday June 23.
Aerial footage of Birmingham city centre showed nose-to-tail traffic jams entering the city whilst West Midlands Railway trains lay unused at Soho TMD train depot in Smethwick.
A canal boat travelling at 4mph was going faster than the trains parked close-by.
The West Midlands Metro was the only transport system to continue to keep regular services running into the city.
The RMT Union is pushing for a 7 percent rise in wages across the board.
