The death toll from a Russian missile strike on a five-storey apartment building in Chasiv Yar, eastern Ukraine, has reached 34, according to reports.

Rescue teams continued to retrieve bodies from the rubble.

The building was hit by Russian rockets fired on Saturday evening.

Nine people have been rescued from the rubble but more are still believed trapped, emergency officials said according to the AP news agency.

"As of 13.00 on July 10, as a result of a missile strike in a five-story residential building in the city of Chasov Yar, 15 people were killed and 5 people were injured," the message says.
