A woman has gone viral on Instagram with a bizarre manicure tip – removing her old polish by setting her nails on fire.

Lyubov, 22, a content creator from Yaroslavl, Russia, shared her bizarre manicure tip after accidentally catching a nail on a candle.

She realised that it helped burn the old polish off of her nail, ready for a fresh manicure.

Lyubov filmed a clip showing how it works, with the tips of her nails seen in flames as the fire burns through the polish.

She shared the video on Instagram (@lybaash) with the caption: “How does your manicurist remove your old coating?”

The post racked up 790,000 likes, with viewers divided in the comments.

“I accidentally set my nail on fire when I lit a candle and realised that my nails burned well,” Lyubov said.

“I had an appointment for a manicure, and since the master and I are on good terms, I suggested that she shoot such a video together.

“Honestly, I didn’t expect this video to be recommended and get 10 million views. But I am very happy about this, because for me as a blogger it is very cool.”
