A hero driver stopped in the middle of traffic to save a kitten lost on a busy road.

The motorist pulled over his white sedan upon seeing the confused feline across the zebra lane in Iligan City, the Philippines, on October 16.

He walked towards the cat and picked it up before placing the creature behind the driver's seat.

Footage shows the animal lover driver rescuing the creature from the dangerous road.

Onlooker Keziah Tabania said: ‘We were buying a cake at shop and saw what happened. Some of the other cars ignored and almost hit the cat, but he stopped and took it.'

The driver immediately left and drove away after saving the creature.

Keziah added: ‘It feels good to see people who care for stray animals.'
