This is the incredible moment hero neighbours carried their friend's home through a RIVER during a tropical storm.

More than 40 brave residents rushed to help when the flimsy stilt home was caught in the path of a flash flood in Negros Oriental province, the Philippines following heavy rain on October 18.

They pulled the stilt house away and transferred it to a new location on hight ground despite the severe weather.

Footage shows the good Samaritans battling through the tropical downpour while heaving the wooden structure across the surging body of water.

Onlooker Jessie Mae Lalamonan said: 'They know how dangerous it was but we care for each other here. We are a small village and we treat everyone like family.'

Jessie added that the family's home was built near the river and was flooded when it overflowed.

She said: ‘The family fled the house but the father called for his friends to help him save his house. It was their only property. We were all relieved it was not damaged.'

The neighbours walked some two miles while carrying the house to reach a safe location for it.

No one was reported hurt and the house was not damaged. Jessie said the men shared a meal of hot soup after the incredible house rescue.

She said: ‘The family and his relatives prepared hot soup and rice for the neighbours.'
