Cheeky wild monkey steals banana from grandmother's scooter basket
This is the amusing moment a cheeky wild monkey stole a banana from a grandmother's scooter basket in Thailand.
The hungry simian could not resist committing daylight robbery when it spotted the bunch of yellow fruit as the elderly lady was passing through the Wat Nong Yao Tai temple in Saraburi province on November 14.
Footage shows how the starving animal approached the woman and brazenly reached through the basket's grilles for the banana.
The grandmother laughed in amusement while watching the monkey persistently gnawing at the basket.
Eventually, its efforts paid off when it managed to pluck one banana from the bunch.
Hilariously, the monkey planted itself in the middle of the road to enjoy the tasty meal, ignoring all passing vehicles passing as it focused solely on savouring its hard-earned prize.
Temple abbot Phra Sirapong Prakkamo who recorded the video said: 'The monkey was so hungry that it committed robbery in the middle of the street.'
