Tidal waves of Qiantang River hit spectators
Dramatic footage has emerged from Zhejiang Province, China of a giant wave catching onlookers by surprise and almost causing a disaster.
The footage, captured last week from a road close to the Qiantang River, shows dozens of spectators watching tidal waves crash over a dam.
Suddenly, one of the waves washes right over the road where the spectators are standing, knocking at least one man off his feet and sweeping away several vehicles.
Fortunately, no-one was injured in the incident.
According to news reports, Qiantang River is famous for its tidal waves, and attracts tourists from throughout China.
Local hydrological stations said the largest tidal bores in years are expected to appear at the end of this month due to record rainfall.
