'We just want to create a stir' - No Trousers Tube Ride organiser explains the event
Ivan Markovic, the organiser of the No Trousers Tube Ride in London, explained that the event intends "to create a stir" in an interview minutes before participants took their trousers off on Sunday (January 8).
"We basically take a group of people, we take them on the Tube and we take our trousers off, and we sit and we behave normally", Ivan explained, "we try and remain as normal as possible".
He added, "we're just doing it for fun, we just want to create a stir, so it's an event to create a reaction with people - but not a negative one".
Hundreds of Londoners took part, riding the Underground in their underwear. It is the first time the stunt has happened since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event originated in 2002 in New York City as the No Pants Subway Ride.
