A bus got trapped in a sinkhole that opened up on a road in eastern China.

Video filmed in the city of Nanjing in Jiangsu Province on January 9 shows a bus carrying more than 10 passengers getting trapped in a sinkhole on a road.

Police officers were seen maintaining the traffic and firefighters were on site to rescue the passengers.

Injured passengers were reportedly taken away by the ambulance and the trapped bus was dragged away. The traffic on the section of the road has returned back to normal.

The cause is under investigation by local authorities.

1月9日，江苏南京新庄立交桥下发生路面塌陷，一辆路过的大巴车，车尾陷入坑中。附近居民张先生称早晨7时许，听到救护车鸣笛，出来看到地面塌陷，大巴车内有十多名乘客，有伤者被救护车拉走。10时许，被困车辆被拖走，该路段交通逐步恢复正常。事故原因仍在调查中。
