An eight-year-old diamond heiress named Devanshi Sanghvi became a nun in Surat, India. The little girl is the daughter of Dhanesh Sanghvi, a famous diamond trader.

Devanshi renounced material comforts and a career in her father's $61 million diamond business to become a Jain nun.

The girl's story has sparked a debate across the country over children's rights.

The footage shows the religious ceremony, celebrated on January 19, with camels, elephants, and horses. Devanshi can be seen joining the procession. She became a nun in presence of Jain monk Acharya Vijay Kirtiyashsuri and hundreds of other devotees.
