The Jakarta Fire Department deployed 14 fire engines and 65 firefighters to extinguish the blaze.

According to officials, several residents suffered burn injuries in the explosion and were taken to hospital.

Village Council Chairman Rasikin said that firefighters are still working at the scene of the incident.

Footage shows the bright orange glow of the inferno followed by a large blast at the sale agent's building in the Pondok Kelapa area of East Jakarta.

The Jakarta Fire Department sent 14 fire engines and 65 personnel to control the blaze. Officials said that several residents suffered burns in the explosion and were taken to hospital.

Village council chairman Rasikin said: 'Firefighters are still working. Earlier there was an explosion because what burned was the building of the LPG gas sales agent.'
