Floods caused by heavy rain have battered eight villages in Manado City, North Sulawesi Province, Indonesia.

The footage shows cars and houses completely submerged in flood water. The video also features images of vehicles and homes being dragged away.

Indonesia's emergency services are currently working to evacuate the affected residents in the villages of Bailang, Mahawu, Dendengan Dalam, Paal Dua, Kairagi Village, Ternate Tanjung, and Sumompo.

Local authorities haven't yet released the number of injured people and possible casualties.

Floods hit eight urban villages in Manado City, North Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, after the area was hit by heavy rains from Thursday, January 26, 2023 to Friday, January 27, 2023.

There is no information on injuries and casualties in this disaster. However, the flood submerged residential areas.

In addition, one of the residents' houses was also carried away by the flood.

Until now, the team from the Manado National Search and Rescue Agency is still evacuating the affected residents.

This flood occurred due to high rainfall intensity. The affected villages are Bailang Village, Mahawu Village, Dendengan Dalam Village, Paal Dua Village, Kairagi Village, Ternate Tanjung Village, and Sumompo Village.
