Families were evacuated as floods swamped their homes in Indonesia.

The National Disbursement and Relief Agency (NDRA) conducted a search and rescue operation for residents affected by the flash flood in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on February 11.

Footage shows rescue teams assisting women, children, and elderly individuals who were sick as they boarded a rubber boat.

In another clip, officials can be seen placing a pensioner on a stretcher and carrying her through knee-deep muddy water to the evacuation centre.

Andi Sultan, Head of the Operations and Alert Section of NDRA, said: 'We are evacuating women and children, as well as elderly people, who are being taken to refugee camps because the flooding is ongoing.'

More than 150 families in two villages were affected by the flash flood brought on by relentless heavy rain in recent days.
