A chimpanzee threw a water bottle at a crowd of visitors, injuring one person at a zoo in southern China.

Video filmed in the city of Nanning in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on January 29 shows the primate picking up a water bottle on the ground and throwing it at the tourists.

A girl’s eyebrow was bleeding after she was hit by the bottle and her phone’s screen was also cracked.

According to an employee of Nanning Zoo, some tourists provoked the chimpanzee beforehand.

The chimpanzee showed its anger by throwing the water bottle and visitors were advised not to tease it.

A netizen questioned on Chinese social media: "Where did the water bottle come from?"

While another said: “I have been there before and could really feel its anger. I saw some tourists provoked it first before it fought back.”

The gorilla is known as Diu Na Xing and it is famous for throwing stones, mud and other items at tourists.
