A Filipino father made a traditional bamboo jungle hut from gingerbread to teach his children about his cultural originals.

Neleh Barcarse Poletsky built the edible yellow hut dessert made in the shape of a home called a 'bahay kubo' hut. He now lives in Norfolk, Virginia, but wants his Western-born children to know about their primitive Asian roots.

The father said: 'It took me about three hours every day for a week to finish the entire creation. Last year, I started teaching my children how to sing a folk song. I want them to learn about their culture, as now we live in the U.S.'
