Father attacks monkey when it steals son's bread at zoo
A furious father was seen attacking a monkey with his bag after it stole his son's bread.
The tourists were walking around Singapore Zoo when a macaque snatched the boy's food on September 28.
Footage shows the angry man in a blue jersey swinging a rucksack at the primate.
He missed the animal, but the force of the swing caused the bag to strike the child in the face, knocking him backwards.
Onlooker Paul said: 'The boy was carrying the food and the monkey jumped on him and grabbed it. Out of nowhere, the guy came at the monkey. Everyone was really mad at him.'
Zoo officials said it was investigating the incident and warned visitors not to attack the animals.
A spokesman for the Mandai Wildlife Group, which manages the Singapore Zoo, said: 'Signs and advisories are found in the wildlife parks to impart information about general etiquette around animals.
'These include reminders to refrain from eating as visitors walk around our parks, keeping belongings such as any food items in a well-packed bag, keeping a distance from wild macaques, and to avoid making eye contact with them.'
