77-Year-old woman rescued after 212 Hours in Adiyaman, Turkey
This is the miracle moment rescuers find a 77-year-old woman trapped alive in the rubble 212 hours after the devastating earthquakes that hit Turkey.
Survivor Fatma Gungor was found in a seven-story apartment block that collapsed in Adiyaman Province on February 15. The operation was carried out by the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), Golcuk Naval Shipyard, and Gendarmerie General Command.
The footage appears to show her lying on a sofa with the fallen concrete-and-steel floor of the flat just a few inches above her head. It then shows her on a stretcher wrapped in a thermal blanket as rescuers carefully carry her away.
The woman was given oxygen via a mask and tube as she was taken to the hospital for check-ups.
When she was found alive, her relatives hugged rescue workers.
